# Captive Wedge Pin for a Quick Release Clamp

## Abstract

A quick release clamp is fitted with a wedge pin retained by a circlip in a blind groove, so the pin cannot be dropped or fitted the wrong way round during a tool change.

## 1. Description

## 2. Description

[0001] The pin (12) is turned with a shallow groove near its head and retained by a circlip (14) seated in a blind bore in the clamp body (10). The groove is offset from the centre so the pin will only seat fully in one orientation.

## 3. Variations

[0002] The circlip may be replaced by a spring plunger where the clamp is opened often.
