ABSTRACT

A control unit ( 10 ) is a device for detecting the condition of a floor
surface (FL) on which a target ( 30 ) has been placed, and comprises a
distance calculation unit ( 11 ) and a target detection unit ( 18 ). The
distance calculation unit ( 11 ) calculates information about the distance to
the target ( 30 ) according to the amount of reflection of the light emitted
from a lighting device ( 21 ) toward the target ( 30 ). The target detection
unit ( 18 ) detects the condition of a floor surface (FL) on which the target
( 30 ) has been placed, on the basis of the information about the distance
acquired by the distance calculation unit ( 11 ).
