ABSTRACT

Systems and methods for performing point cloud registration are described
herein. In one example, a system includes a processor and a memory having
instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to
iterate through translation candidates and rotation candidates to determine a
rigid transformation that best aligns a first point cloud and a second point
cloud. Once determined, the processor may utilize the rigid translation to
control the movement of a robotic device, such as a robotic arm, vehicle, etc.
