# Apparatus and method for controlling opening degrees of valves regulating flow of hydraulic fluid in a hydraulic system of a lifting equipment, lifting equipment and vehicle

## Abstract

Provided is an apparatus for controlling opening degrees of valves regulating flow of hydraulic fluid in a hydraulic system of a lifting equipment to provide hydraulically driven functions of the lifting equipment. The apparatus includes processing circuitry configured to receive first input data indicating a user input. The user input indicates a target movement to be performed by the lifting equipment. The processing circuitry is configured to determine, based on the first input data, a target flow rate of the hydraulic fluid to be provided by a displacement pump of the hydraulic system for performing the target movement. The displacement pump is driven by a rotary drive. Further, the processing circuitry is configured to receive second input data indicating a status of the rotary drive or a drive system driving the rotary drive and to dynamically determine, based on the second input data, a maximum flow rate of the hydraulic fluid providable by the displacement pump. If the maximum flow rate providable is lower than the target flow rate, the processing circuitry is configured to control the valves to reduce their opening degrees according to a predefined logic to reduce a torque or power to be delivered by the rotary drive for driving the displacement pump by reducing the flow rate of the hydraulic fluid in the hydraulic system.
