ABSTRACT

A swivel device that is configured for connecting human and/or non-human cargo
to a rotorcraft, comprising: a first mechanical coupling device that is
configured for being connected to the rotorcraft; a second mechanical coupling
device that is configured for being connected to the human and/or non-human
cargo; and a swivel arrangement that couples the first mechanical coupling
device with the second mechanical coupling device, wherein the swivel
arrangement provides for a primary load path that is configured for load
transfer between the second mechanical coupling device and the first
mechanical coupling device in a normal operation mode, and a secondary
redundant load path that is configured for load transfer between the second
mechanical coupling device and the first mechanical coupling device in an
emergency operation mode.
