ABSTRACT

A cartridge for facilitating automation of a vessel includes a cartridge body,
an adapter for removably connecting the vessel to the cartridge body, and at
least one connection unit for fluidic communication with the vessel. A
connection unit includes a retainer, a port body, a connector, and a tube. The
retainer is fixed on or integrally formed with a wall of the cartridge body.
The port body is coupled to the retainer and has a distal end portion
positioned exterior to the cartridge body. The connector is housed by the port
body and has a first end and a second end, where the first end is positioned
outside of the cartridge body. The tube selectively connects the second end of
the connector to a port of the vessel.
