# Transport apparatus and method for transporting a load

## Abstract

The invention relates to a transport apparatus (1) for a load, comprising a chassis (12) and a lifting plate (15). The chassis (12) having a length and a width, and wherein the chassis (12) comprises: - at least one lifting mechanism (20) configured for moving at least the lifting plate (15) between a lowered position (81) and an elevated position (89) in operational use; and - a steering mechanism comprising at least two wheel assemblies (30) at a mutual distance along the length of the chassis (12) for allowing steering of the transport apparatus (1); and wherein the transport apparatus (1) is configured to be movable underneath and through a cavity in the load when the lifting plate (15) is in the lowered position (81).
