ABSTRACT

A machine component includes a base portion and strain gauges. The base
portion extends in a direction intersecting a central axis. The strain gauges
are provided on the base portion and arrayed in a circumferential direction
about the central axis. Gap regions are provided between adjacent strain
gauges in the circumferential direction. The gap regions include gap regions
arranged at angular intervals of approximately 90° about the central axis.
