Stock retrieval system and method

ABSTRACT

A stock retrieval system is provided, including: i) a storage container for
containing stock; ii) a base plate configured to support stock and to be
housed within the storage container, the base plate being vertically movable
relative to a bottom of the storage container; and iii) a drive mechanism
configured to move the base plate relative to the bottom of the storage
container from a lowered position, in which the base plate is at a level below
a top of at least one side wall of the storage container, to a raised
position, in which the base plate is substantially at or above the same
vertical level as the top of the at least one side wall of the storage
container, wherein the drive mechanism includes at least one supporting rod
comprising an upper end configured to engage with the underside of the base
plate.
