Abstract
The tool 100 includes a ratchet assembly carried within a cavity (106, Figure 2) of a head 102, rotatable about a centreline. The assembly includes a gear portion 118 and a drive portion 120 aligned along the centreline such that the drive portion extends away from the cavity. A pawl carrier 136, rotatable within the cavity relative to the gear portion, cooperates with a first pawl 108 having first teeth 122 and a second pawl 110 having second teeth. The pawls selectively engage with the gear portion as each move along a groove 144A, 144B, provided in the pawl carrier. The pawl carrier is rotatable between a first position that corresponds to the first pawl mechanically positioned along the groove to engage the gear portion and a second position that corresponds to the second pawl mechanically positioned along the groove to engage the gear portion. A ratchet control 132 includes a ratchet lever 134 configured to engage a back surface of the head and a ratchet base (204, Figure 4) disposed within the cavity. The ratchet lever mechanically engages the ratchet base. The ratchet control is coupled to the pawl carrier to cause rotation between the first and second positions. [Figure 3]
