Abstract

Abstract 5 A remote-controlled unmanned jacking vehicle 10 is described for lifting a suspended load. The jacking vehicle 10 comprises a vehicle frame 12 provided with a plurality of powered wheels 14 for manoeuvring the jacking 10 vehicle 10 into position under the suspended load, and a screw-jack 20 mounted on the vehicle frame. A vehicle transceiver 32 is provided on the vehicle 10 for receiving control signals from a remote-control transceiver 34 wherein, in use, the jacking vehicle 10 can be manoeuvred into position and the screw-jack 20 can be operated by remote-control to lift the suspended 15 load. A remote-control jacking system 50 for controlling one or more of a plurality of remote-controlled unmanned jacking vehicles 10 is also described. The remote-control jacking system 50 comprises a remote-control unit 52 fitted with the remote-control transceiver 34 for transmitting control signals to each of the jacking vehicles 10. 20 Drawing suggested to accompany the Abstract: Figure 5 5 Abstract A remote-controlled unmanned jacking vehicle 10 is described for lifting a suspended load.
