Abstract
The invention relates to a warning method for an aerial lift, which comprises a step (101) of receiving geolocation signals from a plurality of navigation satellites. Next, during a calculation step (102), a signal-to-noise ratio of each geolocation signal is calculated, the satellites having a signal-to-noise ratio greater than a predetermined minimum threshold being qualified satellites. Next, for a plurality of qualified satellites, at least one characteristic angle of a position of these satellites with respect to the aerial lift is measured, the at least one characteristic angle being selected from an elevation angle and an azimuth angle associated with the satellite in question. Next, during a determination step (103), it is determined whether the aerial lift is located indoors or outdoors, according to a distribution of each characteristic angle. The method also comprises a warning step (104), which is subsequent to the determination step (103), during which a warning signal is emitted to warn an operator present in a basket of the aerial lift (10), by means of a warning device of the aerial lift (10), according to the result of the determination step (103).
