Abstract

A quick release clamp is fitted with a wedge pin retained by a circlip in a blind groove, so the pin cannot be dropped or fitted the wrong way round during a tool change.

1. Description

2. Description

[0001]The pin (12) is turned with a shallow groove near its head and retained by a circlip (14) seated in a blind bore in the clamp body (10). The groove is offset from the centre so the pin will only seat fully in one orientation.

3. Variations

[0002]The circlip may be replaced by a spring plunger where the clamp is opened often.
