Abstract

A system that includes a workpiece and a robotic gripper apparatus. The workpiece includes a pair of opposed first retention features. Each first retention feature includes a first proximal end, a first distal end, and an outer periphery. The pair of opposed grippers are moveable between a first position in which the pair of opposed grippers engage the pair of opposed first retention features. Each gripper includes a mounting feature having a second proximal end, a second distal end, and an inner periphery. When the pair of opposed grippers are in the first position, a first portion of the inner periphery near the first proximal end engages a first portion of the outer periphery near the second proximal end and a second portion of the inner periphery near the first distal end is separated from a second portion of the outer periphery near the second distal end.
